Dr. Katrin “Kat” Moskowitz is a doctorally trained dual certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She is a also a wife and a mom. Born and raised in Germany, she moved to the United States in 1991. As a Torrington resident since 2001, she has seen medical and behavioral health crisis’s evolve first hand in her community, first as a volunteer EMT, then an Emergency Room Nurse and now as a nurse practitioner.

Katrin is a natural born leader and self-starter who prides herself in how she has grown throughout her career and uses all of her knowledge and real life experiences to benefit her patients. In 2016 she was chosen as a Fellow of the Duke-Johnson and Johnson Nurse Leadership Program and was able to network and grow her skills over the year long program. Her patients appreciate her compassion, her honesty, her willingness to take on the tough issues and the ability to be passionate and determined to make changes. She understands that health is not just about a patient’s medical conditions but a culmination of socioeconomic factors, medical issues, and behavioral health. She treats her patients holistically, leaves no stone unturned and has returned to school and completed her Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification.
Besides behavioral health, she also has a passion for providing care to the LGBTQ community including transitional care and providing alternative treatment modalities.
She hopes to continue to reach out to the community, build relationships and expand services that will benefit many for years to come.
